The short version

The PaybackZIP calculator runs entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit the ZIP code, household size, income, or product selections you enter. The results displayed are computed locally from data files that ship with the website.

We do use two third-party services that may collect data: Google Analytics 4 (for aggregate site usage) and Google AdSense (for advertising). Both are described below.

Information we collect

What we collect:

• Standard server logs maintained by our hosting provider (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp). These are retained for security and operational purposes only.
• If you submit the contact form or an email-capture form, the email address and any message you provide. We use this to respond to you and, if you opt in, to notify you when state rebate coverage is updated.

What we don't collect:

• Calculator inputs (ZIP, household size, income, product selections). These are processed entirely in your browser.
• Health, household member, or financial information beyond the income range you optionally enter into the calculator (which is not transmitted).

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website usage — which pages get traffic, how visitors arrive, general geographic distribution. Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser and may collect technical information such as your approximate location (city-level) and device type.

To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Google AdSense and advertising

PaybackZIP displays ads served by Google AdSense to fund the site. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other sites on the internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

Cookies

PaybackZIP itself does not set first-party cookies for tracking or advertising. Cookies on the site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described above. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies; doing so will not affect the calculator's functionality.

Your rights

If you're a resident of California, the EU, or another region with data privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Since we don't store calculator inputs or maintain user accounts, the data we hold is limited to contact form submissions and email-capture entries, if applicable.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
